Hello, How do you get a rentroll that just reports current tenants. We have tenants that are listed a former tenants still showing up on the current rentroll.

Hi Colleen,

The rent roll report has to be based entirely on lease information and cannot rely on the tenant's status. If it did then any rents from new tenant's would not appear. So for example if you run a rent roll for next month and the tenant hasn't yet moved in their rent would not appear on the rent roll.

That being said if a former tenant's rent is still appearing in the rent roll report then you just need to edit their lease information and close out the lease (adjust the Lease End Date) to reflect when the lease ended. In other words if a tenant moves out early you will need to adjust the Lease End Date to reflect that they've ended the lease early by changing the Lease End Date to the date the lease actually ended. You can of course record in the comments when the lease should've ended so that you know the tenant terminated the lease early.
