Letters templates

Is there templates already made for tenants
and is there a way to modify those templates
or is it possible to make templates

Hi Karl,

This is not possible in the current version. That being said we're actively working on a web based version which we hope to release before the end of the summer which will offer this and more. And of course any data from the Desktop or Network Editions will be transferable to the web based system.

I have been wondering about this and I think this will be a great addition to current version. I purchased my version 11 in March or April 2015 with free updates for a year will this be included in free updates?
Stephane Grenier | email Jul 27 2015, 08:31 PM
Hi,

This will not be included with the free updates. Also please note that the free updates were changed to 3 months with version 11.05. Of course updates to version 11.05, that is patches, fixes, security improvements, etc. are all considered part of version 11.05 and are therefore free. This includes versions 11.05a, 11.05b, and so on all the way to the latest version released this weekend version 11.05g.

That being said please note that the web based cloud version will be sold on a monthly basis. Any cloud based offering needs to be sold on a monthly basis as there are monthly hosting costs for each account that need to be incorporated into the price of the software.

In any case we're expecting the able to make templates and so on to be available on the web version. We're hoping that it will be ready with the initial release, but if not it will be very quickly afterwards. Unlike a desktop application, you can continually upgrade a web based system, so new features are always being added as they become available rather than having to wait for major releases every 2-3 years.

Thank you. I really have been learning more through these post. I sometimes cannot find information I am looking for in the user manual therefore I go to the discussion forum and usually find it quicker.

Information is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

You're welcome. And that's exactly one of the main reasons for the discussion forums, so that people can search for them. It's not always possible, nor appropriate, to answer every specific question or scenario within the user manual otherwise it would be incredibly large and impossible to find anything, but it's absolutely appropriate, and it's exactly what a discussion forum is for. It's good to hear that you're benefiting from the discussions here.

Are you saying that if new updates are posted every 3 months that I will have to pay for the software each time? I see an upgrade costs 50%, so that means a $199 software purchase actually costs $500 for the first year. I am evaluating this software on the free trial, but if that is the case, I won't be purchasing it. Please confirm.

Hi Sheila,

No that's incorrect. Updates to the same version, regardless of when they are released, are always included as part of your license at NO additional costs. So for example if you own version 11.05 and version 11.05n is release 9 months later then this is included with your license for version 11.05. Minor updates are are not scheduled and are released as need be. For example version 11.05m was released because of a change in how Windows certifies software programs as of Jan 2016 (https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3123479).

The 3 months are for major new versions and not minor releases. So in the example above, if the version was 12.01 then yes in this case you would need to purchase a new license at a 50% discount. Otherwise it would be free as previously explained. Normally we release new major versions every 2-3 years.

That being said the version number is the year it was released (since we've been in business) dot the month it was released. Therefore version 11.05 was released in our 11th year of business on the 5th month. We do NOT release a new version each month but rather it's a way for us to know when versions are released.

You can read the full details as to what versions are included with your license in the following FAQ page: http://www.landlordmax.com/support/index.php?pg=kb.page&id=48
