How do you create a receipt for the monthly management fee with the landlords info on it?

Hi Scott,

The current version of the software doesn't offer this. Basically the software is geared towards running your operations, that is the properties for your clients, it doesn't manage your own company's accounting. In other words the management fee is handled by the software from the perspective of your client and not from you as a business. To give you an analogy it's much like a hotel software solution, it manages all the accounting from the perspective of the people staying at your hotel. For a hotel you would then use another software to manage paying your contractors, paying your stock holders, taxes, etc.

There are solutions that do manage both you and your clients finances but they tend to cost at least 5-20x the price of our Desktop Edition. As far as we know there's no solution anywhere near our price range that allows you to manage both your finances and your client's in one package. These are two very different needs and requirements which significantly drive up the costs. Not only that but then this quickly leads to other operational things like managing employees, etc. No solution will manage everything within a business, there are software solutions for operations, accounting, etc. and LandlordMax is for managing your operations (your clients). It's the same as you use for example Word to write your tenant agreements, a tax software to handle your taxes, possibly gmail in your case to email your tenants, etc., No one single solution can manage 100% of your business.

What we recommend for this is to use a combination of LandlordMax for managing your clients and a business accounting software for your own business, Each solution is geared towards it's specific task.

It's an extra step, but I figured out a way to make it work for our business.

- Generate your report & export it to Excel.
- In Excel, add the fields to calculate lease fees and net proceeds.
- Print

- Go back to LLM and record the payments for Lease Fees (vendor: manager) and Net Proceeds (vendor: Landlord)

Hi Heather,

Yes that would definitely work. And although this is unofficial and subject to change, you may be happy to hear that we're working on a completely new templating system for the reports, where you will be able to edit the template in a built-in word processor, specify which data you want included, etc., within some constraints of course. In other words you'll should most likely be able to do this within the new templating system in teh software if all goes well.
