Hi, I sometimes receive early rent. With some tenants for advance notice I specify "none." So when I receive an early check, there is no way to post it as a suggested entry. When I go to that tenant's information in "lease," there is no way to change it to, say, two weeks. How do I change that? Do I have to delete the tenant and re-add it? I'd think that would be changeable. Also, it was mentioned in a previous post that there is no mechanism for handling early checks. If that's the case, what is the advance notice option for? Thanks. |

Hi Jeff, You are correct, the software is limited in option when dealing with early payments. That being said what we currently suggest is that you edit the Scheduled Entry and change the Description field to include a reminder that it has already been paid, and then remove the reminder in the Scheduled Entry afterwards. Basically what this will do is change the Suggested Entry when it's due and include your reminder in the Description field. So for example you could edit the Description from say "Rent for 100 Main street" to "Paid early - Rent for 100 Main Street" or something like that. This way the Suggested Entry will let you know that it's already been paid and you can delete the Suggested Entry. You would then remove the "Paid early" portion from the Description in the Scheduled Entry so that it no longer appears.
