Record keeping before occupancy

Hi. I am renovating a home for future rental. I'd like to demo the program, using it to organize expenses during the renovation over a period of months prior to occupancy.
I'm thinking I will need to initiate data entry with a "dummy lease" using $0.00 for rent in order to start entering expenses. Does this make sense and do you see the program functioning ok for this purpose?
Thanks

Hi Arlie,

Firstly please note that we do offer a 30 day free trial to demo the program before you purchase. You can definitely use it to enter back dated entries, there's no limitation on how far back you can go, the only limitation is that you can only use it for 30 days.

As for your other question, I'm not sure I understand why you would want to enter a dummy lease for $0 in order to start entering expenses. Everything is completely optional, and if you have no leases, then you can just leave it empty...

I guess I'm just used to having to fill in all the blanks.
I've downloaded the trial and will give it a go with this project and another property.
Thanks for the very prompt reply.

Hi Arlie,

You're welcome for the prompt reply. And yes you'll find that throughout LandlordMax almost all the fields are optional. We do this because different people use different functionality, and so rather than forcing people to enter fake data, not to mention the time this takes, they can just use what they want from the software.
