{"id":93,"date":"2024-09-27T19:03:29","date_gmt":"2024-09-27T19:03:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.landlordmax.com\/knowledgeBase\/?post_type=ht_kb&#038;p=93"},"modified":"2024-10-26T15:46:55","modified_gmt":"2024-10-26T15:46:55","slug":"units","status":"publish","type":"ht_kb","link":"https:\/\/www.landlordmax.com\/knowledgeBase\/article\/units\/","title":{"rendered":"Units"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Create a unit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>A unit can represent more than just a standard unit in a building in a multiplex or apartment complex, it can also represent a mobile house in a mobile park, a commercial unit in a shopping center, a bedroom a shared residence or boarding house, and so on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>** IMPORTANT:<\/strong> <em>You can only create units for your buildings in the<strong>\u00a0Buildings<\/strong>\u00a0section of the software, and only for Multi Unit Buildings.<\/em>\u00a0Once you&#8217;ve created the Unit(s), the software will automatically calculate the unit count for you under the Building (the unit count can also be viewed in the Dashboard). Once expanded you can then <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"48\" height=\"48\" class=\"wp-image-304\" style=\"vertical-align: middle; display: inline-block; width: 20px; height: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.landlordmax.com\/knowledgeBase\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/09\/image-15.png\" alt=\"\"> click on the <strong>New <\/strong>button as shown in the above screenshot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Depending on if you are creating your buildings and units first or your tenants that the Tenants combobox could be empty as they haven&#8217;t been created. If this is the case then you can either create a new Tenant on the spot by clicking on the New button beside the Tenant combobox or you wait until you create the Tenant to link to the Tenant to the Building and Unit. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that you can also enter a unit description, the classified ad, and so on so that you can remember how you advertised the rental unit and such.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Fill in the Information<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Unit allows you to store a lot of additional information for each unit. For example, you can store Appliances, images of the unit, and so on. You can find this information on the\u00a0bottom portion of the screen in the SubPanels, just like how you found the Units SubPanel for the Building.
