Hi
I love the income & expenses feature that was recently added thanks
but I am disappointed this feature wasnt added to "suggested acounting entries" I personally each month use this feature to post reaccuring transactions and seperating the income and expenses would save alot of time for people like my self and others who have to edit the monthly expenses totals and dates etc.
Regards
Brian

Hi Brian,

You're welcome. And thank you for the kind words. That being said you'll be happy to hear that it's also scheduled to be added to both Scheduled Accounting Entries and Suggested Accounting Entries any day now.

During the tax season we held back on releasing a lot of new features to avoid adding any stress to people trying to get their taxes ready. Although new features are great for a lot of people for others change can be an area of stress, especially while trying to complete your taxes. As such we held back on a lot of features and put them on hold in a queue. Now that tax season is over we're now in the process of releasing a lot of the new features that were on hold. And similarly to tax season we're trying to avoid adding too much change all at once, so we're releasing new feature in batches. This is one of the rare cases where grouped features are released separately but it does unfortunately happen in rare cases. For example one big feature we're going to be releasing in parts is the ability to create invoices and receipts directly from accounting entries, as well as outstanding rents to newly created receipts and invoices. We normally try to release grouped features together but in some rare cases there are technical reasons why it's done in stages.

All that to say yes it's coming to both Scheduled Accounting Entries and Suggested Accounting Entries. Although the following is not officially and is subject to change, they are currently scheduled to be released by this weekend.

I keep getting all the old tenants coming up each month. I keep deleting them but they still show up. When I accept a rent payment it doesn't show up in revenues grouped by tenant.

Hi Ed,

Please find our responses below:

1. I keep getting all the old tenants coming up each month. I keep deleting them but they still show up.

When you say deleting them are you just deleting the Suggested Entries or also the Scheduled Entries? Please note that when you create a Lease the software creates associated Scheduled Entries for you but that they are intentionally not linked for safety reasons. Meaning that if a Tenant moves out you then need to also delete the associated Scheduled Accounting Entry so that no further Suggested Accounting Entries are generated.

One of the reasons the software doesn't automatically delete Scheduled entries is because for example some people will have tenants that transition from a 1 year lease to a month to month lease but they forget to create a new lease entry for the month to month lease, and if we deleted the Scheduled Entries then they would miss rents. It's always better to delete an extra entry then to completely miss a rent entry. This is one of the reasons why you have to delete the Scheduled Entries after the Tenant has left.

2. When I accept a rent payment it doesn't show up in revenues grouped by tenant.

For this we'd have to ask you to contact us directly. We'd need to confirm it's not a data entry error. In other words we'd need to confirm which rent payment you expect to show up combined with what the report settings you have set. In other words we first need to confirm that the rent entry should appear in that specific report. Therefore if you can contact our support team directly with the details we'll be able to assist you.
