Does LandLord Max Pro Edition support a windows 8 R2 virtrual server?

Hi Paul,

I'll just repeat what we responded in our support ticket so that if someone is searching our discussion forums they also get the answer.

"Do you mean Windows 2008 R2 Server as I'm not aware of a Windows 8 Server system. Windows 8 and Windows 2008 are two completely different systems. Assuming you mean Windows 2008 R2 then please note that this is not officially supported because Microsoft themselves have stopped mainstream support for Windows 2008 Server on 13 January 2015, a little over 2 years ago. In other words you should NOT be running this system in production, it's no longer considered safe or secure, and doubly so for managing people's sensitive personal and financial data. There may even be some legal expectations and liabilities if you're using an unsupported system to manage sensitive financial information. Therefore if you're using Windows 2008 then we very strongly recommend you upgrade as soon as possible. If you're running Windows 8 then yes you can but as far as I'm aware Windows 8 doesn't have an R2 release..."

I am wondering: If I install on multiple computers, will the system update entries on all computers? Or will I need to go to each computer and add the same entry each time?

Hi LaTricia,

With the Networked Editions such as the Soho, Pro, and Enterprise Editions the data is automatically updated on all computers. The way it actually works is that all the computers connect to a central computer which manages the database, and so any data update is done to that central computer, then when another computer asks for data it's getting the latest data from the central system (database).

All that to say no you don't need to add the same data entry each time to each computer if you use one of the Network Editions.
